Search-form entries, such as a name, phone number, or address, are sent to the provider that produces the results. Lockport Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those queries. A message sent to us contains only the information in that message, which is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
The hosting service may create ordinary logs containing an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We use aggregate information to maintain the service and understand general page use. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement where applicable.
What We Do With This Data
We use this limited information to run the service, resolve faults, measure overall visits, and improve content. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.

County and state record portals, library collections, archives, and sponsored-search providers are separate services. Their own privacy terms govern data submitted on their pages, including information entered into sponsored results.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data a website retains. The research materials do not identify a New York consumer-privacy statute applicable to this reference site. Because so little is retained, a request normally concerns the contact mailbox and available server logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by New York, Niagara County, or Lockport offices are outside our control and must be addressed to their custodian.
